Cost Data Collection Pricing Notes

1. Pricing reflects probable construction costs for the first quarter of 2011 and is based on a nationwide average. Pricing may vary according to specific geographic locations and local economies.
2. Unit costs include
   • Contractor’s overhead and profit and general conditions at 11%
   • Design contingency allowance of 2.5%
   • Escalation allowance of 0.52
3. Sales tax on material purchases is excluded.
4. Extensive shipping costs of materials are excluded and will vary according to volume and supply logistics.
5. Material purchase costs may vary according to quantity ordered.
6. Labor productivity may vary depending upon project, job site conditions and volume of construction.
7. Labor hours and labor costs are based upon professional installation.
8. Where specific installations require equipment, the standard equipment type is included within the unit rate.
9. Costs for specialty fabricated items may vary according to the level of complexity and customization required to meet actual design requirements (e.g., structural insulated panels).
10. Equipment installation costs may vary according to quantity and complexity of piping and wiring connections required.
